Beautiful yellow days

Summer are you really moving-on
Those pretty yellow orange summer days. how i remember
having the pleasure to linger and simmer
Dear summer, we're going to miss you
as the coming winter months draw near
starting in december. old man winter lives again.
giving his long gray days. never a day too soon..
we're tearful. yes we did well in the summertime
and rejoice with praise. amaze how harvest has shown
us how meaningful summertime was in mother natures place,
yes we wait and everyday seemingly in vain for you
our prettiest yellow orange day to return home again soon.
Some reflection is warranted please;
chicken legs, watermelon and no school
family fun, everybody playing in the pool
ribs, hotdogs sliding your way never too soon
burgers, corn, charcoal how uneven and burnt till blue
summer taste so insanely good, you wonder. can it be cool
O beautiful summer. your glow i will always remember
we'll yearn well into the winter with our eyes fix
we'll reflect on another summer day to come again, so we can once again fix and mix.
